Vale Alf Charlish
The Dolphins wish to pass on our condolences to the Charlish Family after the recent passing of Alf Charlish.
Alf is a past President and life member of the Dolphins holding the top position from 1965 until 1970.
He was at the helm for the Dolphins maiden first grade premiership in 1965 and worked tirelessly as President of our Club until he resigned from the position.
Alf was an active member of the club from 1958 and was a key contributor to the growth of the club as it went through its transformations to be one of the premier clubs in the state..
He was also heavily involved in the Redcliffe community serving as a councillor for nine years and as Mayor for five years from 1985-1991.
During his term as a councillor the Dolphins were never far from heart, he was enthusiastic supporter of the Dolphin Oval redevelopment and quite appropriately was on hand as Mayor of Redcliffe to officially open the new leagues club in 1985.
"Alf was a very honest and hard-working man. He was a tireless worker for the club and our community. he was a good bloke. He'll be missed," said Dolphins President Des Webb.
He is survived by his wife Doreen and their five children Peter, Judi, Noel, Mark and Wendy.
