Clayton returns to Dolphin Oval
Trent Clayton has returned to rugby league in Australia to the club where he began his senior career the Redcliffe Dolphins.
The 27-year-old returns to Dolphin Oval after stints in the NRL with the Sydney Roosters (2000-2002), West Tigers (2003) and Penrith (2004-2005) before moving to France, where he has played the past three seasons with the Toulouse club.
Clayton made his first grade debut for the Dolphins as a 17-year-old against Bundaberg in 1998. Scoring two tries on debut. His debut was to be memorable for other reasons. QRL officials tried to strip the Dolphins of two points because of his age.
Former team-mate and incoming CEO Grant Cleal said "We're all aware of his skills and footballing abilities, but Trent will have a really good influence on the younger blokes at the club, particularly the outside backs."
"What he does off the field will be as important as anything he does on it."

Trent played 13 Queensland Cup games for the Dolphins in 1999, also represented Brisbane that season before dropping back to the colts side that went on to win a premiership.
Team-mates in the colts side included future NRL players Sam Obst, Ben Jones, Mick Crocker and Brent Tate
Clayton's signing will bolster the Dolphins outside backs depth following the departure of Nick Emmett to St.George.
